Match Report – U12 vs Fairfax – Saturday 9th October 2021

This was the U12’s first ever rugby fixture for Camp Hill and they certainly lived up to the expectation they had set from training. The game began with a solid 5-minute period where Fairfax dominated possession. To not concede from the barrage of attack was impressive to say the least! Ollie Smoldon, Rafe Sullivan, Esa Butt and the rest of the team put in amazing tackles to prevent Fairfax from progressing. When we finally got our hands on the ball, our confidence to play expansive, skilful rugby showed as we scored 3 tries in quick succession. Strong runs from Mushaf Mir, Seb Robotham, Jiale Chen, and Barachel Ankrah made it very difficult for Fairfax to defend their try line. Replacements at half time for Camp Hill showed just how strong our strength in depth is, with the likes of Ahmed Mahfoudhi and the rest of the players to come on not dropping the high standard one bit. The game finished 6 tries to 3 (30-15), an extremely good result and a great sign of things to come for this team! Every single player could be mentioned for numerous positives they showed in this game but the player of match was given to Alex Innocenti (vice-captain for the day) who put in a sterling defensive performance, as well as attacking. A real all round performance. Congratulations!
