Match Report
King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys Boys-U13A vs  Camp Hill RFC
On: Saturday, 16 Oct 2021
Venue: Away

Coming off the back of a hard fought win against Fairfax School the previous Saturday, hopes were high for our match against Camp Hill Rugby Club. After a tough loss against the club the year before, the boys knew they would have to be at the top of their game.

Camp Hill School started brilliantly, pinning the club in their own 22 with hard, abrasive running from Ashton Okello and Arthur Kelly. Their efforts were rewarded when Joel Fletcher finished off a flowing team move dotting the ball down in the corner. Further individual tries came from Lemuel Ajei and Ashton Raes Lattif to round off a fantastic first quarter of play.

Camp Hill Club stepped up their game in the second quarter with three unanswered tries. This could have been more if it wasn't for the defensive efforts of Dawud Husayn, Hassan Malik and Raes Lattif.

With some half time changes and fresh legs, the tempo in the second half increased with both sides playing some of their best rugby including a fantastic individual effort from Adam Bashir who ran the length of the pitch to score from his own 22. Camp Hill Club had some very dangerous runners who were causing havoc in broken play scoring several impressive individual tries themselves. The scores were tied at 6 tries a piece going into the last 10 minutes of the game.

Tired bodies and heavy legs lead to Camp Hill Club scoring two late tries, scored by their talisman who has already dotted down four times previously. Whilst the school were disappointed by the result, taking the club so close showed the monumental progress thay they had made.

A special mention must go to Dawud Husayn, who tackled relentlessly throughout the game. He was nominated as Man of the Match.
